This trip is open to 12 Educate78 School Design Fellows. Preference/priority will be given to Fellows/Teams in the Engage & Explore and Prototype & Design Phases.
To be considered, Fellows must complete this Eventbrite registration by Wednesday, October 5th.
The SDL will provide airfare reimbursement, lodging costs for Wedesday (11/2) and Thursday (11/3) night, and provide food and/or per diem reimbursements for all participating fellows.
Fellows/Team may, with advanced permission from the SDL, also pay for a limited number of additional design team members to attend as well. However, teams will be responsible for all airfare and hotel arrangements and costs for these participants. If you would like to bring a member of your design team along, please contact Carolyn Gramstorff at email@example.com right away.
Our draft iternerary will include:
Wednesday, November 2nd
- Travel to Boston
- Optional (for fellows who arrive early OR travel the day before and pay for an additional night of lodging) visits to the MIT Lifelong Kindergarten Project, Harvard Graduate School of Education (Redesigning Education Project and others), and additional school visits/observations
Thursday, November 3rd & 4th
- School visits to high quality public schools such as Match HS, Mission Hill K-8, Brooke Charter School and Teacher Residency Program, Margarita Muniz HS, Boston International Academy/Newcomer Academy
- Learning about Boston's Pilot Schools
- Building community with some of Boston's best educators
Fellows must book their own flights. The SDL will reimburse you for up to $600 for airfare. Fellows must book their trips by no later than October 12th.
We will be staying at the Cambridge Regency Hyatt. Educate78 will arrange for alll lodging accomodations.
