Looking after yourself during the festive period
Overview
Christmas should be a time for celebrations, but often isn't as straightforward for disabled and chronically ill people. There’s a lot of socialising, maybe with people you don't often see. Dietary requirements can be ignored and there is a general pressure to be happy and have a good time - which can be difficult if you are disabled or chronically ill.
This workshop, led by ADN’s favourite Sagittarian Meg Fozzard aims to be a safe space for people to discuss concerns about the festive period. The aim is to come together, share strategies and coping mechanisms and hopefully put to rest some of your festive concerns. There's no obligation to share if you don't want to!
We will discuss:
Part 1- How is the festive period different for disabled and chronically ill people?
Part 2- How can we minimise these issues
Part 3- What to do when. your strategies don't work
