Long Range Shooting Course

LINCOLN, ARKANSAS - MAY 18-19, 2019



TOPIC:  The ability to predict the flight path of the bullet with consistency is one of the most important factors in shooting at longer distances.  Whether you're a military or law enforcement sniper, sportsman, or other long range shooter, you must develop this ability in order to take these difficult shots successfully.  This long range shooting class will help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to successfully make hits out to 1000 yards and beyond. 

Utilizing a combonation of lecture and practical drills and exercises, this course will cover:

  • Fundamentals and Body Mechanics
  • Zero and Grouping Exercises
  • External Ballistics
  • Wind Calls 
  • Spotter Training
  • Muzzle Velocity testing and DOPE Cards for your individual firearm
  • AND MORE exercises to make you a better shooter

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • 200 Rounds of Ammunition
  • Rifle & Scope (nothing larger than .338 mag)
  • Proper range attire (Weather in Arkansas changes every 20 minutes)
  • Lunch and snacks for sustainment during training
  • Hydration
  • Eye Protection
  • Hearing Protection

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT (BUT NOT REQUIRED)

  • Sand Sock
  • Spotting Scope
  • Kestrel or Ballistic Solver
  • Range Finder
  • Shooting Sticks
  • Lawn chair
  • Rain gear

INSTRUCTOR:  Alex Woods is a special operations who served 5 years in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment.  During his tour he completed 4 combat deployments to Afghanistan and is a graduate of numerous combat schools, including Airborne, Ranger, Squad Designated Marksman, and Sniper school.

DATES AND TIMES: MAY 18-19, 2019.  Class begins each day at 9:00am.

FAQ

1.  Is there any prerequistite training required to attend this course?  No, shooters from various background and ability levels will benefit for this course.  If you are a beginning shooter, the drills and exercises will be basic for you.  If you are more advanced, we will push you to your limits.

2. What is your refund policy?  Full refund for cancellations received 20 business days prior to the event. We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather, floods, earthquakes and other Acts of God that require us to cancel an event.  If conditions force us to cancel an event, we will reschedule and credit your registration fee to that event.

3.  Is there an age requirement to take this course?  You must be at least 18 years of age to attend this course.  For minors with experience and permission by a custodial parent or legal guardian, consideration will be made on a case by case basis.  Please contact us before registering.

Mark Booher, JD, CPS, is the founder and senior instructor for The Barritus, a provider of security and intelligence training for the military, law enforcement, and the private sector.  Mark spent five years in the United States Army, where specialized in force protection, security and intelligence operations.   
Mark is also a Certified Executive Protection Specialist and has traveled to the West Bank to train in the Israeli counter-terrorism and security methods.  
Following his military service, Mark studied law at the University of Arkansas and spent 6 years as a deputy prosecuting attorney.  He is an experienced litigator with numerous jury trials in cases ranging from murder and robbery; to sex crimes; drugs and violent assaults.  Mark has trained hundreds of law enforcement, military, and civilian personnel on the subjects of intelligence and security operations and is a contributor to The Counter Terrorist Magazine.
