Course #1 - 8:00am-11:00am 3 CEU’s Speaker: JUDITH DEMBER-PAIGE RDH, BS, COM

Topic: Preventing Sleep Apnea Through Early Intervention

Because of improper chewing, breathing and swallowing the facial cranium does not develop properly leading to orofacial Myo-Functional Dysfunction. Early intervention is a solution that may make it possible to avoid poor development.

**Course #2 - 11:30am-2:00pm 2.5 CEU’S Speaker: Dr. Neal C. Gehani, MD

Topic: ENT for the Dental Hygienist

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. They are physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. During this session, we will discuss various topics within Otolaryngology that pertain to the Dental Hygienist.

Course #3 - 2:30pm-5:30pm 3 CEU’s Speaker: James G. Kouzoukian, DDS

Topic: The New Standard of Care in Oral Hygiene

How do patients maintain a healthy dentition? Current research indicates that our old standbys are no longer considered effective to maintain implants and protect them against peri-implantitis, maintain a post- surgical result in periodontal treatment and effectively treat a non-surgical periodontal case. Our new standards and their dentolegal considerations will be discussed using plenty of images and citing the most recent articles upon the subject which have recently been authored and published by highly respected bodies of periodontal research.

The Long Island Dental Hygienists’ Association, known as LIDHA, has no affiliation with the Long Island Dental Hygienists’ Forum, known as LIDHF. We are separate entities with no connections. LIDHA solely represents Long Island Dental Hygienists.
