Long Island City Factory Tour

Edison Price Lighting

Join OHNY and curator, architectural critic and educator, Nina Rappaport on a tour of Edison Price Lighting factory in Long Island City. Nina's work and research concentrates on how architectural and urban design issues address manufacturing in cities. These issues present an exciting design challenge for integrated systems and programs in urban areas like Long Island City. The tour goes behind-the-scenes at Edison Price, a company that has designed and manufactured innovative, energy-efficient architectural lighting fixtures for architects, engineers and lighting designers since 1952. Get a close look at the factory with one of the lighting engineers and learn about the possibilities and the future of manufacturing in the neighborhood of Long Island City.

The inspiration for this tour originated with the work that Nina Rappaport conducted with artist Natalie Jeremijenko for the Civic Action exhibition currently on view at the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City through April.

Tickets to this event are non-refundable. Should you be unable to attend, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to openhousenewyork and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
