Join 1MillionStartups Tour 2020: London SDG Impact Shapers, now ONLINE on July 7th with pre-selection pitches on June 23rd

1MillionStartups, the influential global community in support of SDG startups, is launching the first SDG Impact Shapers event in London in collaboration with the UK Government’s Global Entrepreneur Programme and HumanVenture.

The event is a 2-part virtual forum designed to bring together some of the world’s leading entrepreneurs in SDG impact innovation with leading impact experts, investors and potential business partners. Considering 30% of European VCs are based in the UK, London is the ideal place for startups ready for the next level or scale up investment.

PART ONE: pre-selection pitches

Selected impact businesses will be asked to deliver a 2 minute elevator pitch to a select host of judges on June 23rd*. The ambition of this pitch is to determine the following:

• The potential impact of the business and its relationship to the SDGs
• The growth potential and investor readiness of the business
• The global market opportunity for the business

The selection committee will be made up of impact experts and leading Angel and VC investors from the UK and Europe.

PART TWO: London SDG Impact Shapers online-event

Up to 15 startups will be selected by our panel to participate in a half-day virtual workshop to be held on July 7th*. The selected startups will be participating in hands-on sessions which will equip founders with knowledge, tools and connections intended to grow their business globally. They will also be given the opportunity for a broader, targeted pitch to global impact investors and experts. (*) Time will be decided based on the participant's country of origin.

This call is for startups creating solutions towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

We are inviting startups who fit the following profile to register their interest for London:

• Have received funding/investment (angel/seed round minimum)
• Revenue generating (doesn't have to be much, just to validate model)
• Access global markets - want to go global out of Europe
• SDGs are part of their strategy (any of the goals)

Deadline: Deadline to register your interest is 15th June2020. If shortlisted, you will receive a confirmation with additional info. Final confirmation for the pre-selection pitching session will be by 19th June.

Participation: Only one person per startup can participate. The representative should be the CEO or the person responsible for fundraising.

Duration: Considering founders should be focusing on their startup, the program is short and condensed in knowledge and connections.

Costs: The participation in the program is free of charge subject to selection.
