Event description
Contribute to shaping the opportunities and solutions for Loddon Mallee's energy future

About this Event

Australia’s energy system is undergoing an unprecedented transformation as existing powerplants retire and renewable energy takes over. This revolution presents significant opportunities and challenges in the Loddon Mallee region to households, businesses, primary producers, renewable energy generators and the grid.

The Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance (CVGA) is proud to host the ‘Loddon Mallee Future Energy Forum’. This forum will provide pre-launch insights into the Loddon Mallee Renewable Energy Roadmap. The Roadmap is an initiative of the Victorian State Government (DELWP) and is being developed by the CVGA with oversight and guidance from the Loddon Mallee New Energy Taskforce (LMNET). The Roadmap aims to understand local challenges and opportunities and inform decision making to respond to the energy transition.

The Roadmap seeks to reflect the ideas and concerns about what is economically, environmentally and socially preferred in our region. This forum is an important opportunity to participate and influence the final Roadmap.

This forum is a chance to:

  • Hear what communities, industry and government are saying
  • Learn from experts and key players
  • Network with regional leaders
  • Contribute to shaping the opportunities and solutions for our energy future

Join other leaders, decision, makers, industry captains and key community representatives for this important event.

The agenda takes in the full breadth of policy and regulatory changes, competitive and technological disruption, as well as movements in consumer trends. You will understand the challenges and opportunities facing generators, networks and grids, right through to Commercial & Industrial end-use, community energy and residential retail.

Keynote speakers include Rachel Watson, Chair of the Clean Energy Council, the peak body for the clean energy industry in Australia, and CEO at Pacific Hydro a global renewable energy owner, operator and developer, (and retailer) with an installed capacity of more than 1 GigaWatt of renewables across Chile, Australia, and Brazil.

This event is free and will provide morning tea and lunch.

The final program and speakers will be announced closer to the date.
