Description

It's fall, y'all! What if you could taste the flavors of the season in a glass? (And no, we don't mean pumpkin spice). How do you take local and wild ingredients and turn them into something unique and delicious to sip?

To find out, join Piedmont Picnic Project at Mystic Farm & Distillery for the first event in the Foragable Durham series - a Locally Foraged Cocktail Workshop + Tasting!

This workshop is great for folks looking to learn more about how to forage and process wild ingredients or mix unique, delicious, and local cocktails. We'll explore ways to pair locally foraged ingredients with local spirits from Mystic Distillery, teaching you techniques in wild food processing and mixology along the way. Hear tales of local history related to our ingredients and location for the day. Sample two wild cocktails as you learn.

What ingredients and techniques can you expect to learn about? Fall is nut season in the wild food world, so we'll guide you through how to turn a little-used wild nut into hickory nut milk, flavored with other wild ingredients, and spiked with Mystic spirits. We'll also explore how to turn more herbal and floral wild ingredients into delicious syrups - great as cocktail mixers or as simple sodas!

Stick around after the workshop for a tour and tasting at Mystic Farm and Distillery free of charge (normally $10)!
