Event description

Description

The Charlottesville Local Foods, Local Places workshop is a part of the EPA technical assistance grant that the city received to use for assistance in identifying strategies for enhancing our community through local foods. During the workshop, community members, local leaders, and federal and state experts will come together to create a cohesive plan with actionable steps for food access, urban agriculture, and economic development. Progress towards city-wide food security will be made by focusing on the Ridge Street and Fifeville neighborhoods. With the help of the governmental experts, this workshop will enable our community to incorporate the skill based capacity needed in food systems planning to formulate a coherent strategy to create a more equitable and secure food system in Charlottesville.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided, and refreshments will be accessible to purchase through the cafe at the Jefferson School.
