Event description

Description

Calling all activists and would-be advocates for change! You want to make a difference?
What else can you do, other than rally, protest, run for office, write letters, rant on Facebook, or call your reps?
You can show up to their offices with an actual appointment, and sit down for a real substantial conversation about the issues!
This is your privilege as a citizen: you can lobby your elected officials. Learn how to lobby at any level of government: city, county, state, or federal.

Experienced citizen lobbyists will equip you with communications skills that empower you to take this step in reclaiming our democracy. Co-Presenter Emily Wirzba is on staff with the Friends Committee on National Legislation. Co-Presenters Colie Young and Max Broad are volunteer group leaders for Citizens' Climate Lobby - Annapolis and D.C. Chapters.

Join Colie, Max, and Emily for an interactive, issue-neutral communication skills workshop.

The skills you learn will apply to any topic, any intersection of political parties/views, and any presence of civil disagreement. Learn how to find common ground, listen for values, address the issue and the people with respect, and make your “ask” effective.

Event sponsored by: Anne Arundel Women's Huddle Network.
Venue sponsored by: Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis.
Please RSVP soon ... space is limited. Cost is Sliding scale: 0-$5. Please purchase a $5 seat if you are able!
