Llwyn Celyn Study Day
Fri, May 26, 2017, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM BST
Llwyn Celyn is a late medieval farmstead in the Black Mountain, Wales currently being restored by the Landmark Trust. This two and a half year project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and includes training, volunteering, education and cultural events throughout.
Our Study Days at Llwyn Celyn are aimed at students, professionals and homeowners. They are an opportunity to explore a range of conservation and restoration issues such as thermal efficiency, use of appropriate materials, timber and masonry repair. In particular we will be looking at the structural engineering challenges we have had to face during the repair and retiling of the roofs on our range of buildings.
Refreshments will be provided during the day, but you will need to bring your own packed lunch (there are no shops or cafes nearby).
This is a working site, so health & safety must be adhered to. Please wear boots and appropriate clothing for an outdoor event. Hard hats and high vis will be provided.
