Rik D. Jeffery received his Juris Doctor from University of California Irvine, School of Law, in May of 2017 and passed the California Bar Examination in July of 2017. While waiting for admission to the Bar he is currently a law clerk for Wykowski and Associates, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in cannabis law where Rik spent all of his law school summers. Upon admission to the Bar, Rik will be the firm’s regulatory and compliance specialist. Rik has worked in the area of controlled substance regulation for a total of ten years. He started his career as an alcohol law paralegal in 2008 helping multinational hotel chains and a privet equity companies invest in hospitality and entertainment businesses. Rik became interested with the cannabis industry during law school while applying his regulatory and administrative law expertise to the novel legal issues facing the industry. Since then, Rik has aided Wykowski and Associates in advising clients in regard to regulatory compliance for cannabis product creation, branding, securitization, and litigation.
Shabnam Malek is a partner at Brand & Branch LLP and co-founder and President of the National Cannabis Bar Association. She advises clients on domestic and international growth, strategic expansion, intellectual property development and enforcement, and regulatory compliance. She also represents clients in disputes and state and federal litigation—work that gives her valuable insight and perspective when drafting and negotiating agreements for clients. Shabnam also advises on advertising law, privacy law, and all things internet.
Shabnam's professional affiliations include the International Trademark Association and California Bar Association, where she serves on committees, the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Lawyers Guild, the Queen’s Bench, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and Women Grow, where she served as a founding co-chair of the Bay Area chapter. She regularly speaks about growth and intellectual property issues pertaining to the cannabis industry and on intellectual property matters generally. Shabnam has been named a Northern California Rising Star three years in a row by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Born and bred inthe cannabis industry, the founders of SOL Distro have a background in cultivation, dispensary retail sales, manufacturing, marketing and most importantly, a repertoire of relationships with industry professionals. Over the years, they acquired a means for safely and efficiently delivering the product they manufactured to storefronts; a distribution company inadvertently began to take shape and in 2016 they opened their distribution channel capability to other cannabis brands that met their standards of excellence.
