Join us for the 2020 LLL Peer Learning Circle!

About this Event

A Peer Learning Circle (PLC) is a trusted group of peers committed to brainstorming, problem solving and challenging each other in critical areas of leadership development with a trained facilitator.

The Leadership Learning Lab –Peer Learning Circle (LLL-PLC) is a facilitated process for continuing to practice the leadership skills and tools learned in the 2019 LLL program. A learning circle method will be utilized and practiced by circle members in exploring individual topics. Each session will have a short learning component for strengthen knowledge in key topic areas and developing adaptive leadership skills. PLC sessions will take place in April, June, September and November.

LLL-PLC benefits:

  • Break through feelings of isolation and burnout

  • Learn the Peer Learning Circle process so you can use it with others to help explore challenges

LLL-PLC session format:

  • Check-in on stated goals and identified actions from previous session
  • Identify individual topics for session
  • Discuss with facilitated peer learning process
  • Share resources and experiences (in person and on Google Classroom)
  • Identify ley goals, next steps and accountability partners

LLL-PLC strength:

  • Continued support from trusted LLL cohort partners
  • Integration of LLL key topics into everyday practice
  • Trained facilitator to keep the group on track and accountable

Sample topics may include:

  • Exploring opportunities for collaborating with new cross-sector partners
  • Addressing challenges in collaboration
  • Exploring collaborative structures and decision-making
  • Developing strong teams
  • Exploring difficulties reaching desired goals
  • Creating space for reflection
  • Managing time and reducing overwhelm
  • Establishing clarity around what is most important
  • Bringing your best self forward in a difficult situation

The PLC will meet on:

  • April 8 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • June 10 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • September 9 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • November 11 from 1-4 p.m.

Meeting location:

  • Room 7 in NMC’s University Center, 2200 Dendrinos Drive, Traverse City

Program fee:

  • $100 (includes all 4 sessions)
  • The remaining program costs are being covered by the Frey Foundation, the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation and Rotary Charities

Note: Participation is limited to 2019 Leadership Learning Lab participants.
