In 1979, a little film called "Mad Max" kicked off an explosive and insane franchise of films that became one of the most iconic post-apocalypse tales ever -- crazy violent and crazy fun, "Mad Max" defined the genre, made Mel Gibson into a star and as of this year, proved to be an unkillable franchise.
But Liz's friend Frank does not know who rules Bartertown. Frank has never experienced Lord Humungus. And Frank has no idea what's coming, when Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron's robot arm come roaring into theaters this summer. So he will be told about EVERY ONE of George Miller's magnificent films -- live, in front of you!
(What's Liz Tells Frank: Live? Well, every once in a while, Liz tells her friend Frank what happened in a book or movie or a TV show. Every once in a while, Liz invites people to watch. Think super-nerdy tag team stand-up accompanied by a Keynote presentation, audience participation, and a bell. Not to mention SNACKS and PRIZES! More info about Liz Tells Frank here.)
LTF LIVE will once again be hosted by the fine folk of Nerdstrong in North Hollywood. Doors open at 8:00 for drinks and snacks and conversation - we'll start the show a little before 9:00. The show lasts about an hour, and you're welcome to hang out afterward.
Tickets are free, but please RSVP, as that helps us in planning (our space has limits). Also, please be kind and bring a little cash -- a $5 donation will help us cover expenses like snacks, booze and chairs. And chairs are important, in the discussion of "Mad Max." Because you will want to hold onto your seats.
When & Where
Liz Tells Frank What Happened In...
Frank's missed out on a lot of pop culture. So sometimes, Liz tells him about something he's missed. Liz does this for free. Frank gets what he pays for.
