Description

Join a free trial class for the "Living Philosophy" Course.

How can we flourish in life? How can we live in harmony with society and nature? How can we realize our ideals in this world without hurting others? How can we be free?

These are all important questions but we don't learn them at school...

The Living Philosophy course that is a journey of discovery of the wisdom traditions of humanity, from Buddhism to Stoicism, from Plato to Egypt, with the aim of finding, and above all, applying the answers to these universal and practical questions and others.

The course revolves around three core topics: Developing ourselves (ethics), learning to live together (sociopolitics), and building the future (philosophy of history).

Topics include: Hinduism and the inner battle; Dharma, Karma and Reincarnation; What the Buddha taught; Tibetan Buddhism; Confucius and the Harmonious Society; How to Live Together; Plato's Cave; The Practical Wisdom of the Stoics; Justice in Ancient Egypt; The Hero's Journey; Mythology and Symbolism; The Cycles of Time in Ancient Cultures; And more.

Classes include the practice of concentration, attention, memory, habits, intelligence, willpower, and more.

Classes will take place weekly on Mondays from 7:00pm - 9:15pm (with break).

Two open classes will take place on 07.22 and 08.05 (the same class)

There are 12 classes in the course (not including the first open class).

The monthly participation fee is $40, paid on the 1st, 5th and 9th classes.

The course is a foundation course for the study program of New Acropolis, which includes advanced courses such as practical psychology, the wisdom of the east and west, symbolism of ancient cultures, oratory (public speaking) and more.

Why do we study philosophy?

- To seek the wisdom we lack, to discover little by little the laws that govern life and therefore ourselves.

- To master our personalities and make them more harmonious.

- To offer others the results of our experiences, helping them, if possible, to avoid unnecessary pains.

- To understand the causes behind so many apparent inconsistencies in life, such as pain, disease, poverty, violence, madness, hatred and fear.

- To recognize, behind these apparent contradictions, practical exercises that life is offering us to work on our evolutionary progress.

- To take an active approach towards history rather than being passive observers.

- To use the legacies of tradition as a foundation and to generate new ways of transmission towards the future.

- To arouse the sleeping sentiment of human solidarity and to see everyone as a being worthy of our sympathy and understanding.

- To unveil the mysteries of existence.
