Description

**All workshops are solely for Indigenous community members **

////\\\\ About The Workshops ////\\\\
How do we move through the world as our selves?
How do we navigate colonial and institutional spaces as ourselves?
How do we survive living in what has become of Tkaronto?

Reflecting on and looking into ways in which we protect, guard, arm and shield ourselves to feel safe when exploring physical spaces. But also how we explore our inner realms when relating to spaces and places in this city. With mask making, mask work and movement instruction, folks will learn about using the body and mask to communicate and to participate in a physical storytelling experience. As a group we will travel through rooms and respond and talk back to spaces and inner realms. Come exploring resistance resilience while collectively co-creating a community story. Masks created will contribute to the Living Legacies art showcase in the fall.

Workshop dates:
June 8 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
June 15 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
June 22 - 7:00pm - 9:30pm
June 29 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm

////\\\\ About The Project ////\\\\
Living Legacies: Two-Spirit Stories is an art-based workshop series that centres the stories of Two-Spirit communities in Tkaronto. We are creating safer space that reflects who we are, where we are coming from and how we relate to this vibrant city. Come develop an idea, feeling, story or something else, to share with others if you choose. This project will leave a legacy showing the abundant, textured and nuanced lives of Indigenous LGBTQQAI and/or Two-Spirit people to our families, friends and community members that lives beyond this current moment.
