Description

THE LIVING LEGACIES SERIES

at The Dance Complex

536 Massachusetts Avenue

Cambridge, MA 02139

Lives dedicated to dance are often unsung.

With a series of concerts and events, The Dance Complex begins a new tradition this spring by celebrating master artists in our midst through presenting these Living Legacies, with concerts of their dance works.

This spring, and in subsequent seasons, we will honor some of our longstanding dancemakers by highlighting their choreographic works in performance. With each concert, a younger artist will be invited to share the space with our honoree's work, in effort to illuminate the spirit of artistic generations speaking to each other. This spring we honor two long standing members of The Dance Complex community, Margot Parsons and Ramon de los Reyes.

Clarity is a trio in which the dancers cut and shape space to a achieve balance and definition in their lives singly and jointly.

Grand Slam is a trio for those who challenge one another with displays of endurance and energy that will lead to further challenges.

Dreams is a trio that is meditative with a sense of urgency where one of the women, a timekeeper, guides the other two to accept their fate.

Summer Heat guides seven dancers to find a collective energy in a courtly regal way that ends with looking up to what is yet to come.

Tarantella is a playful dance bringing together a strong friendship between two people.
