Event description

Description

We are able to deeply discount this event from $1250 to $940 thanks to an anonymous supporter! New price is $940.00 deposit required now. This 3-day workshop is for those who want to plan for the best life possible in later years. Those who should attend are ;

  • family members caring for aging parent/s
  • age 50 + persons wanting to plan their future (living to beyond 100 is not so unusual anymore)
  • those living alone and without family

This 3 day retreat gives you an opportunity to clear your mind and focus on the lifestyle issues ahead. Lifestyle issues that include support networks, housing, health, care and financial needs. SeniorsAdvocate.ca provides you with all the materials, the roadmap and options and candid Q & A and general conversation to help you create your personalized Later Life Plan.

Life demands that we make daily choices. Living with these daily challenges and wins can be stressful. At the same time, we are thinking about the bigger picture of where we want to be by early retirement (using age 65 as a marker). As we move into retirement age, it gets harder to envision what our life will look like as our work and social networks change or disappear and our health changes. The goal posts are moving and reality is we are living longer and we need help to navigate through the challenges, barriers and gaps that we are confronted with.

A previous attendee said " If asked prior to the workshop I would not have admitted to the underlying anxiety of growing older alone.I was surprised by the amount of relief I felt at knowing there were seniors advocates like Barb Kirby to turn to."

Making wise decisions to maintain your independence, while using the support of others takes forethought and creativity. Over the three days, we identify the options to help you make well-informed decisions in the areas of life that can be most affected as mentioned above. Then you can kick back and enjoy life.
