'Living Gender in Diverse Times'

Feminist and Gender Network First Annual Conference

Developed from the ‘Living Gender in Diverse Times’ project, the Feminist and Gender Network (FGEN) was founded in July 2021 by Professor Sally Hines (University of Sheffield) and Dr Natacha Kennedy (Goldsmiths) to bring together academic and professional staff and students, policy makers, third sector, community and campaigning organisations, members of cultural industries, and health and medical professionals whose work understands gender as fluid and diverse.

FGENs first conference ‘Living Gender in Diverse Times’ brings Network members and international keynote speakers in trans, gender and sexuality studies together over two days to share ideas and work to forge future collaborations. In exploring the diverse ways in which gender is lived and understood in current times, the conference will address practices of gender regulation and resistance, representations and mediations, and social institutions and transformative cultures. In addition to individual presentations, the conference will host roundtable discussions and cultural/visual interventions.
