Event Details

We are pleased to invite you an afternoon of stimulating presentations and dialogue to mark the culmination of the AHRC funded Living Design research project. Co-led by researchers based at the ImaginationLancaster design lab at Lancaster University and Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, the project explored craft and maker enterprises in Cumbria and how design can contribute to their long-term sustainability.

The event will open with a complimentary lunch at 1pm and close with a wine reception at 5.15pm. Details of our guest speakers are listed below. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at a plenary session which follows.

Spencer Hannah FRSA, Director and Co-founder, The Herdy Company
Spencer Hannah is a creative and a designer. Born in England and a European, he originally trained at Bolton Art College moving onto Leicester Polytechnic, graduating in ’86. He has worked in the disciplines of Corporate Identity and Brand throughout his design career. A move to the Lake District seventeen years ago with his wife (also a designer) triggered the idea for Herdy – a desire to create something special for the Lake District that finally resulted in their established design practice slipping away.
