About this Event

Living abroad is an exciting opportunity to explore, experience, educate and elevate your life. However, there are hidden emotional challenges that come with living in a new country and culture. Generation Mobility is hosting a lunch talk about the challenges of living abroad and how technology can help make the transition easier. Join us for our lunch talk and be empowered personally and professionally to live authentically abroad.

Speakers:

Alicia Partee

As CEO of Generation Mobility she has helped expats boost their wellbeing, and organizations take care of their global workforce and their families.

Alicia’s own experiences transitioning to a new life overseas became the catalyst for her work with other expats, migrants and world citizens. She brings a rare understanding of the challenges facing her clients together with years of experience and education.

After more than 20 years leading projects and teams at Fortune 500s, startups, and non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley, she made a career transition into mental health and well-being in 2006 and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Today her passion is PeopleTech.

Alicia is a firm believer that anyone can settle, succeed and thrive anywhere. Since 2016 she has helped expats and emigrants shake the challenges about living abroad, and overcome barriers to build a thriving life in their new surroundings.

ABOUT GenM - Generation Mobility

“We help companies protect their investment in international assignments by providing the tools and solutions to ensure that the employee and their family members thrive abroad .”

Generation Mobility offers a digital platform and mobile app to help businesses make the transition easy for their global talent by providing employees and their family members with the tools to adapt abroad. Our solutions are evidence-based, personalized, scalable, and flexible to accommodate growing global opportunities.

It costs a business approximately 3.8 million NOK for each failed international assignment and almost 75% of the initial costs to replace the key talent. Research suggests that the main reason for unsuccessful transition experience for expats is dissatisfaction and difficulty adapting in a new country.

At Generation Mobility, our mission is to turn these statistics around by getting to the heart of the problem. We work closely with HR and Global Mobility Managers to create a holistic, digital solution that addresses a company's full range of global mobility needs.
