About this Event

As we all navigate the challenges of sheltering in place, churches are forced to consider new ways of worshiping and being the Body of Christ. Even churches who previously offered online worship have to rethink their approach in order to engage an exclusively digital audience rather than prioritize the in-person experience. How can worshipers be fully engaged, encouraged and equipped? How can worship leaders and musicians restricted to their homes offer a cohesive, and inclusive experience? How can church communicators facilitate online worship in a way that is achievable and sustainable? How can we plan for and get through the inevitable glitches?

Share tips to help clergy and communicators become more tech-savvy. Learn about the pros and cons and quirks of Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live. Discuss ways to promote and engage parishioners, inviting them to more fully participate in worship, formation, fellowship, and giving. Bring your questions for experience-based advice, ideas, fallback plans and more as we re imagine Sunday services for our parishes.

Panelists include:

  • Ms. Lisa Brown, Director of Digital Ministry, Membership Vision (Moderator)
  • Ms. Sarah Stonesifer Boylan, Digital Missioner, Lifelong Learning at Virginia Theological Seminary
  • Ms. Missy Morain, Director of Program Ministry
  • The Rev. Lorenzo Lebrija, Director, TryTank Experimental Lab
  • Mr. Merrill Whatley, President, Membership Vision
