Event description

Description

Join us for this three-part experiential workshop on 1/16, 1/23, 1/30 that will dive deep into our understanding of how emotional intelligence, empathy, and cultural intelligence are vital for building better community and solving some of our most challenging social challenges. Emotions are viewed differently among cultures, genders, ages, and professions. But we all experience them! An added advantage about increasing our emotional intelligence is that we also learn better self-care. Massages, hot baths, a glass of wine, are all great. However, real self-care requires understanding the way we feel, why, and how to move forward.

About Your Host!

Nicky is a diversity, equity, and inclusion trainer with an extensive background in cross-cultural communication facilitation and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.

I have spent most of my career in public service. This includes more than five years in the military and six years working in the nonprofit sector. I’ve had the privilege to study three foreign languages over my career, as well as many beautiful international cultures. This led me to pursue an understanding of cultural influences in relationships, both in and outside the workplace. I’m particularly interested in exploring relationships of identity, power, gender, socioeconomic class, race, ethnicity, and religion.

Most importantly, I am dedicated to helping organizations (both corporate and not for profit) and individuals develop sustainable solutions to their business needs
