What is LIVE2LEAD-Richmond

LIVE2LEAD is a full-day leadership and personal growth event hosted in Richmond, Virginia. This event is an annual leadership gathering designed by the John Maxwell Company, presented by L2L Leadership Institute in partnership with the host, Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC).

Live2Lead has shared leadership and personal growth principles to a live audience and over 300 simulcast locations around the world. This is the 8th annual LIVE2LEAD-Richmond and we are returning to in-person on the top floor of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond with a beautiful view of the city and the James River.

Our guest speaker is BK Fulton, Chairman & CEO of Soulidifly Productions and former executive at Verizon. Our lifetime achievement honoree is Daphne Maxwell Reid, actress, philanthropist, community leader.

BK Fulton, Guest Speaker

BK Fulton is the founding Chairman & CEO of Soulidifly Productions, a feature film and media investment company designed to promote a more inclusive narrative in contemporary media. Soulidifly is the first independent film company to produce four feature films in their first year of business (River Runs Red, Atone, 1 Angry Black Man and Love Dot Com: The Social Experiment). His films are award-winning including 3 IndiFEST Awards (2020), 1 AMAA Award (Best Diaspora Narrative Feature 2020) and several film festival best narrative awards including the Oscar Micheaux Award (in 2017, 2018, and 2019). BK is also the author of nine books. Prior to becoming a full-time author and media entrepreneur, BK was a Senior Executive for Verizon Communications. He has also held senior leadership, media, technology and policy development posts with the U.S. Department of Commerce, AOL, Time Warner and the National Urban League. BK holds a Smithsonian Laureates Medal (2000) and a Juris Doctorate in IP (1998).

Jacqueline Johnson, Moderator

Jacqueline “Jacquie” Johnson is Director of Professional Development at the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC), an organization that works with schools, businesses, and communities to achieve success through inclusion. In her role, she designs, coordinates, delivers and evaluates diversity, equity, and inclusion programs conducted for VCIC’s workplace clients across Virginia.

Jacquie has a diverse background that includes workplace diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) strategy, instructional design, and underrepresented community outreach and engagement. Jacquie is especially interested in how DEI practices, adult learning, and inner self-work help organizations recognize the full humanity of its workforce and foster communities where everyone thrives. Jacquie currently serves as a board member for The Fund for Leadership, Equity, Access, and Diversity (The LEAD Fund).

Before joining VCIC, she managed special projects and training programs for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, American Association for Access, Equity and Diversity, and Morgan Lewis, a global law firm. Jacquie received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University, and her Master’s degree in Anthropology from George Washington University.
