About the Speakers:

Masatsugu Asakawa is the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Chairperson of ADB’s Board of Directors. He was elected President by ADB’s Board of Governors and assumed office on 17 January 2020.

Prior to joining ADB, he served as Special Advisor to Japan’s Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and has a close-to-four decades’ career at the Ministry of Finance with diverse professional experience that cuts across both domestic and international fronts. (Read more)

Mitsuhiro Furusawa joined the IMF after a distinguished career in the Japanese government, including several senior positions in the Ministry of Finance in recent years. He served as the vice minister of finance for international affairs at the Ministry of Finance of Japan and special advisor to Japanese Prime Minister and to the minister of finance before joining the IMF. His overseas postings for the Japanese government have included IMF Executive Director, minister (finance) at the Embassy of Japan in the United States, and counselor (finance) at the Embassy of Japan in France.

Keiko Honda is an Adjunct Professor and Adjunct Senior Research Scholar of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Until the end of October 2019, Honda was the Chief Executive Officer of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group. MIGA supports cross-border equity investors and lenders by providing coverage against currency inconvertibility and transfer restriction, expropriation, war and civil disturbance, breach of contract, and non-honoring of financial obligations. 本田桂子 米国コロンビア大学国際関係公共政策大学院(School of International and Public Affairs)の Senior Adjunct Professor/ Adjunct Senior Research Scholar および AGC 社外取締役をつとめる。発展途上国における政治的リスクに対し保証を提供する世界 銀行グループの機関、多数国間投 資保証機関(MIGA: Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency )の長官を 2019 年 10 月末までつとめた。 それ以前は、マッキンゼー・アンド・カン パニーのアジア部門で初の女性シニア・パートナーとし て、企業戦略 M&A や提携などに関する助言を 24 年にわたり行った。ベイン・アンド・カンパニーおよび リーマン・ブラザーズにも勤務。(略歴詳細はこちらをご覧ください。)
