About this event
Greenlight welcomes author and architect Suad Amiry to our events stage to celebrate her newest novel, Mother of Strangers. Set in Jaffa in between 1947 and 1951, this “fable-like historical novel of young love” (Oprah Daily) is based on a true story during the beginning of the destruction of Palestine and displacement of its people. With prose that is “stirring... achingly alive,” (Publishers Weekly) Amiry follows the lives of two Jaffa teenagers to reveal a portrait of a city and a people irrevocably changed. Join us, Amiry, and acclaimed author Zaina Arafat (You Exist Too Much) on Flatbush Ave. for a reading, discussion, Q&A, and book signing.
