MEDITATIVE MUSIC EVENING

with piano & electronics

Reflective Music is an evening of Improvised piano music with electronics, aimed at creating a space for you to be with yourself.

A space where you can meditate, sleep, listen, write or think. A space where you can choose to either relax or pay attention to what your inner world tells you. A space we are rarely able to schedule in our busy lives.

HOW IT WORKS

When you arrive a mattress/mat will be waiting for you. You can choose your place and a comfortable position to relax. After a short introduction Marko will start improvising on the piano using live electronic effects and opening up the moment for you to follow your gut and give yourself what you feel you need. Feel free to fall asleep, write on your notebook or listen. After about an hour we wrap it up and wish each other a peaceful night.

Pillows, blankets and tea are all for you to enjoy :)

MARKO IVIC

Marko Ivic is an interdisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. His music style is inspired by minimal electronic music and combines the piano’s lyricism with live effects and improvisation.

His exploration of an environment with improvised music called Reflective Music, has had well received editions internationally and still constitutes an important part of his practice. He has also been active as a composer and physical performer for theatre, dance and film in projects that have toured the Netherlands and internationally.

Hailing back from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Marko moved to Croatia to study classical piano and afterward to The Netherlands for Live electronic studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Since then, he has staged and taken part in interdisciplinary performances of varied kinds, alternating the roles of maker, performer and composer/sound designer.
