About this event
On June 21, 2022, we will welcome visitors to hear live organ music for Make Music Day, a day of free concerts and musical experiences celebrated worldwide.
Friends of the Erben Organ will present a series of five 30-minute organ concerts. This event is in-person only and will not be live-streamed.
Live Organ Concert Schedule:
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Maria Rayzvasser and Lana Krakovskiy. Music of Florence Price, Samuel Scheidt, and Swedish composers Emil Sjögren and Franz Berwald (organ duet).
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm: Dr. John Wolfe. Music of Pierre du Mage and Dieterich Buxtehude.
4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Yilun Wang. Music of Dieterich Buxtehude, César Franck and Théodore Dubois.
5:30 pm - 6:00 pm: Jared Lamenzo, organ, and Lavinia Pavlish, violin. Music of César Franck.
6:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Dr. Kalle Toivio. "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius and Improvisation on submitted themes.
Music selections will feature Finnish, Swedish, African-American composers and more!
This will be the fifth time we participate in Make Music Day. For the past four years, the Erben was the only New York City pipe organ heard in this event.
These events are free - donations to support our music programming are appreciated!

Make Music Day is an exciting part of Erben Organ Days 2022, a series of musical events highlighting the historic 1868 Henry Erben organ.
Friends of the Erben Organ ("FREO") is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed in 2017 with the mission of restoring, preserving and presenting the historic 1868 Henry Erben organ located in the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, corner Prince and Mott Streets in Little Italy, NYC.
