Description

A Sunday afternoon of enchanting music Live from Emmanuel. Harpists Wendy Kerner and Teresa Mango will delight listeners with an array of French and Spanish music in our Great Hall. Suggested donation of $20 will reserve your seat. Walk-ins welcome.

A Two of Harps loves sharing the enchantment of their two magnificent instruments totaling 94 strings, and the fun of making music together. This past year A Two of Harps was awarded a grant from the American Harp Society to have a piece written expressly for the Duo by contemporary/jazz composer Brandee Younger. A Two of Harps has been described as “Exquisitely expressive”, “Stellar” and “World Class”. Their recent concerts include the Trinity College Chamber Music Series; Sunday Afternoons Live in Greenwich, CT; a repeat appearance for the Hart Concert Series in Yorktown, NY; the Sunday Concerts at Central series in Queens, NY the Salisbury, CT Meeting House Music Series and the Music on Main Concert Series in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

A Two of Harps receives a wonderful response from audiences and presenters. Here are some comments from recent programs:

The music —Faure, Debussy, Franck and others—was superbly played and beautifully chosen.” Donald Sosin, Composer

“A Two of Harps, performed to a capacity crowd. The audience was enthralled with their beautiful harp playing as well as the fascinating background information they shared about their harps between the music. Many patrons have asked to have them back, and we certainly will, it was a very popular program.” M. O’Brien, Hart Concert Series, Yorktown, NY

“What a wonderful pairing of harpists! I was thoroughly elated and enjoyed every moment! They both gave exquisitely expressive performances, and left the audience enthralled.” T. Cokkinos, Greenwich, CT

“An engrossing and delightful concert which truly engaged the audience.” E. Bontempi, Richter Arts Association, Danbury, CT

She is an adjunct Professor of Harp at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and she maintains an active private teaching studio for harp students of all ages in Wilton, CT. Wendy has appeared in concert throughout the United States including recent performances at Bennington College, The JFK Memorial Library in Boston, Yale University and a concerto appearance with the Orchestra of New England. Wendy is a winner of the American Harp Society’s Concert Artist Program, the National Flute Association’s Chamber Music Competition, and she was presented in her New York Debut in Carnegie Recital Hall as a winner of the Artists International Chamber Music Competition.
