Little Veterinarian School Summer Camp at Taborspace
Mon, Jul 24, 2017, 9:00 AM – Thu, Jul 27, 2017, 3:00 PM PDT
Little Veterinarian School® encourages elementary school children to explore the exciting world of veterinarians. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use. Each child will receive a stuffed animal puppy, journal, and many other projects and tools.
Dates: Monday-Thursday, July 24-27
Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Location: Artspace Room
What does my child need to bring?
Please have your child bring a lunch, water bottle, and snacks. There will be a lunch break, along with plenty of snack, hydration, and play breaks throughout the day. Little Vet. School does not supply food or snacks.
What will the kids be doing all day?
Participants will explore veterninary science concepts through hands on activities, crafts, and games. They will role play as veterinarians, use imagination and creativity through art projects, and learn to document their findings in a special journal. The day will also include active games, recess, and plenty of time to wiggle, giggle, and have fun with friends.
The minimum age says 6, are there exceptions to this age?
We have found that kids who are at least 6 years old have the best experience with the program. Throughout the class, there is a journal that is used which does require basic reading and writing skills. The program is also packed with many different projects, and being able to follow along with the instructor for a longer duration can be difficult for younger children. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about whether or not your child should enroll.
Do you offer before or after care?
We do not have before or after care at this location. However, some of our summer camps are being offered at community centers who do have this capability. Click here to visit our full list of summer camp locations.
What is the instructor to student ratio, and who are the instructors?
Our small class sizes set us apart from many other summer camps. We cap class sizes at 12 kids, and there will be two instructors for classes that meet peak enrollment. We have an amazing team of instructors from diverse backgrounds. All instructors are background checked employees of Little Medical School who have a passion for teaching kids about health and science. They have experience teaching kids in a group setting, and many are currently pursuing careers in medicine and science.
My child has taken Little Veterinarian School as an after school program. Is it the same content?
Yes. A portion of the program will be the same as the after school edition. The stuffed puppy will also be the same. This is a new program, and there are more editions currently being developed for future camps and classes. There have been kids who have enjoyed repeating the class, and your child is welcome to return to us at any time to explore the extended content and new class updates.
What is your cancellation policy?
A full refund will be given if the cancellation request is received two weeks before the start date. Cancellation requests received less than 14 days prior to the camp start date will not be refunded.
