Little Unsuspected Paradise: words and music in Grasmere
Sat, May 20, 2017, 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM BST
Little Unsuspected Paradise brings you a celebration of words and music in Grasmere.
Poetry from Jack Nicholls, from his newly released Emma Press pamphlet Meat Songs.
The launch of Grasmere resident Polly Atkin's debut collection of poetry Basic Nest Architecture.
Music from Jenn Grant and her band, all the way from Halifax, Nova Scotia, from her newly released sixth studio album, Paradise.
Jenn has a remarkable voice, exceptional, award-winning songwriting skills, and is not as well known in the UK as she deserves to be. This is a rare chance to see her at a small venue, off the beaten track.
Jenn won an East Coast Music Award in 2012 for her fourth album The Beautiful Wild (which Polly quotes in the dedication to Basic Nest Architecture).
