LITTLE RIVER HIDDEN GEM
PADDLE & CAMPOUT
Spend a weekend exploring the up-and-coming Georgia Little River Water Trail! Join us for an exciting two day paddle, dinner party, and campout within the Clarks Hill Wildlife Management Area near Thomson, GA!
The Event will Include:
Lunches * Festive Dinner Party * Live Music * Games and Activities * Camping * Hot Breakfast * Plein Air Painting Demo * Fish Seining * Presentations on Native Wildlife, River Health, River Restoration Opportunities, Cultural & Native American Indian History, and more...
We will be Paddling:
Near Historic Gold Mining Sites * In the Habitat of Bald Eagle, Heron, Kingfisher, River Otter, Beaver, Fox, and a Variety of Fish Species...
NOTE: Boats are NOT included with this paddle. Paddlers must secure their own boats. Rental options are available through Raysville Campground http://www.raysvillecampground.com - (706) 595-6759 & Cole Watkins Tours http://www.colewatkinstours.com - (706) 840-0433.
We will paddle rain or shine except in the event of a severe thunderstorm or dangerously high water levels. Participants must cancel within 48 hours of the event to receive a refund.
#1. Paddle Distance, Class, End Time:
Day 1 – 7.6 miles
Day 2 – 5 miles
This paddle is all flatwater. Novice paddlers are welcome to join. We expect everyone should be off the river by no later than 3:30PM on Sunday.
#2. Parking, Put-In & Take-Out:
PARKING & CAMPING LOCATION (Participants will be shuttled to Put In Location):

*NOTE: Holliday Park (http://bit.ly/2mRrd7F) has primitive campsites without electricity or RV hookups. There is a bathhouse with 1 women's and 1 men's shower.

#3. What are you Going to Paddle?
Bringing your Own Boat?
On Saturday: Please drop off your boat and passengers at the Put-In (if bringing your own boats) between 8:00 and 9:00 AM and then drive to Holliday Park (approx.20 min drive), and park your vehicle. A shuttle will then take drivers to the Put-In location between 9:00 and 9:30 AM. Your vehicle will be awaiting your arrival at Holliday Park Campground that afternoon.
On Sunday: We will paddle from Holliday Park Campground to Raysville Campground where a shuttle will be waiting to take drivers back to their vehicles at Holliday Park Campground (approx.15 min drive). Drivers will then return to Raysville Campground to retrieve their boats and any passengers (a map will be provided).
Do you Need a Boat?
As already mentioned, boat rental is not included with this paddle. If you need to rent a boat, please make arrangements with the outfitter associated with the trip:

If Renting a Boat:
On Saturday: Please drive directly to Holliday Park Campground arriving no later 9:30AM. A shuttle will then take you to the Put-In location between 9:00 and 9:30 AM. Your rental boat will be waiting for you at the Put-In location and your vehicle will be awaiting your arrival at Holliday Park Campground that afternoon.
On Sunday: We will paddle from Holliday Park Campground to Raysville Campground where a shuttle will be waiting to take participants back to their vehicles at Holliday Park Campground (approx.15 min drive).

The following meals are included in the paddle/campout ticket price. We have also offered the option for your family and friends to purchase Saturday night dinner tickets if they would like to join us at Holliday Park Campground.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY LUNCH

Menu: Boxed Lunch comes with choice of sandwich options, sea salt kettle cooked chips, chocolate chip cookie, fruit and pickle.

Menu: Pulled Chicken & Homemade Blueberry BBQ Sauce, Naan Bread, Afghan Pesto Coleslaw, Roasted, Paprika Potato Salad, Fresh Fruit, S'mores, Sweet Tea, and Water.
Vegetarian option available upon request: Grilled Mozzarella Mushrooms.

#8. What to Bring
In addition to camping gear (if you are camping) please bring water, hat, sunscreen and anything else you may need to stay happy on the river. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet - no cotton (or jeans). If you are bringing your own boat, please note that ACA required you to wear your life jacket at ALL times while on the river.
#9. Eco-Friendly Event
In our efforts to make this an Eco-Friendly Event, we ask that you bring your own water bottle (we will have igloo coolers with ice water for you to fill them with).
