ANYONE WHO AUDITIONS WILL BE CAST

You can register for your audition to be considered for a role or just as an ensemble member.

All casting is done by E.D.G.E. of Orion staff.

There is finite room for a total of 60 in the cast.

This is theatre for ALL. Invite friends, neighbors, classmates, and cousins of all abilities to join this amazing production!

The most compassionate audition ever!

We pride ourselves on our gentle approach to the audition. Think of it more as a “meet and greet” where we share with each other some of our favorite moments from the show. You will come and meet with our staff, share with us what you like about theatre and what you'd like to do in the production, sing a part of a song from the show (or even “Happy Birthday”!), and we may ask you to read a scene or two with us! Low pressure. Anyone who auditions is guaranteed in the show (provided you do not have conflicts with required rehearsal and performance dates).

Each actor is expected to sell program ads with a minimum value of $25 and each actor will be asked to contribute to concession table.

AUDITION in three easy steps:

  1. Pick your favorite part from https://www.mtishows.com/broadway-junior/audition-central

  1. Rehearse! Memorization is not required for auditions.

  2. Parent, legal guardian, or other support person will sit down with our staff and have a chat about their participant's strategies for success. This is a required part of auditions.

Parent/Legal Guardian Commitment: Please be aware that parents, legal guardians, or other supportive adults are required to attend a flash talk monthly for what to expect for each stage of the process. Parent, legal guardian, or other supportive adult is required to walk in/out with the actor within appropriate time of rehearsal (15 minutes before, on time after).

Commitment: Committing to the show is essential. This project should receive the same amount of commitment as a competitive athletic team, marching band, or other play. This means moving your lives around rehearsals. This means not planning social events over rehearsals. If you have a featured role than you must make every attempt to make every rehearsal. If you have a commitment that takes you out of the show once a week, this will affect casting, meaning you may only be in the ensemble. We understand that people have lives but this should be an important commitment. Please understand that we have less than 50 practices to create an entire world. Let us reiterate. If you have a lot of conflicts it does not mean you can't be in the show. It does mean that you can't have a lead. Before you register, look at your calendars carefully and note ALL conflicts so you know what you're getting into before committing.

Please note: Might your actor find more success with reduced rehearsal time and more individualized and direct support? Our ALL-AGES Rising Stars ensemble is the perfect place for them! This small ensemble is a place where actors thrive with additional supports or a touch more TLC. This is NOT a junior ensemble but a place to learn to Rise to future Stardom. This is a great lateral move for the actor who is still learning best practices in group environments. Not sure which ensemble is best for your participant? Please contact Orion Couling at orion@edgeoforion.com
