Event description

Description

To launch The Redhills Project we are hosting a series of Little Big Meetings - open forum events which bring the current and potential users of Red Hill together to learn about the project and have their say. These meetings are organised thematically to ensure conversations are focused, productive and help us to build networks.

Music

The second of our Little Big Meetings is focused on the ways in which music can become an integral part of bringing Redhills to life and sharing the building with future generations. Music has always been the heartbeat of the coalfields and the region's still-thriving brass band culture is testament to the importance to our identity. Redhills has in more recent years started to play host to more concerts (Ewan Mclennan, Durham University Big Band, Mum's In Durham Choir, Dennis).

As we look towards a new future for Redhills we're keen to hear from musicians, promoters, teachers, groups and organisations who'd like to join the conversation.
