Description

Looking to develop skills to aid you in your English or other essay based A Levels? Also interested to see what university study is about? The School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures is delighted to invite Year 12 students to its Literature Study Day: Exploring a World of Texts.

During the day you will receive sessions on:

  • The Art of Close Reading: Analysing unseen texts
  • The Art of Comparing Texts: Answering comparative questions
  • Comparative Literature & Culture taster lecture

The skills you learn in these workshops will not only equip you with skills to examine literary and visual sources in your A Levels, but will also help prepare you for university level study. You will then have the chance to experience university style teaching through a Comparative Literature & Culture taster lecture.

In addition, the day will feature a student ambassador led campus tour, giving you the chance to explore our beautiful campus and ask questions to current students.

There is no cost to attending the event, however please note that we are unfortunately unable to provide lunch.
