Literaself workshops, presented by content experts, are informal 1-hour sessions focusing on personal growth and development.
Whether asking for donations, writing a grant, inviting people to a fundraising event, or rounding up volunteers, it can be challenging to convince readers to support your organization. This workshop will focus on some of the most challenging things about writing for/with a non-profit: persuading readers of the importance of your organization's mission and creating and maintaining lasting support streams through written communications. Attendees will look at a variety of writing samples and practice analysis and revision techniques. Presenter Linda Smith-Brecheisen is the Associate Director of the Writing Program at the University of Chicago. In addition to her work in the classroom, she also runs a writing consulting practice and has worked with consultants, grant writing teams, policy teams, and others in the private and public sectors.
Sessions are free for CLA members and $10 for the general public. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
