Want to help select the next great entrepreneurial idea in Memphis?
Join us on Thursday, May 4th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to hear 27 amazing high school students pitch their entrepreneurial ideas to the community. Audience members will help in selecting $1,000 in additional funds for 2 students. Examples of ideas include:
-a product/prototype that converts food waste into fertilizer for local community gardens
-An app that makes pickup basketball games more efficient by arranging sports meetups
-A fashion magazine geared towards African-American female youth
-T-Shirt clothing line
From 6 pm to 6:30 pm, audience members will hear from 20 different students via elevator pitches at booths. From 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, 7 finalists will pitch on stage to the community for the chance at funding. After the stage pitches, we will have a college signing ceremony for all of our high school seniors in the Botanic Garden as the sun sets.
LITE was named one of the 20 ideas that could change the world by Forbes and has helped over 1,000 students develop entrepreneurial skills in Memphis.
Foodtrucks will be outside the event at the conclusion of the event.
Sign up now because seating is limited and we are expecting to sell out of tickets.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Free parking will be provided in the Botanic Garden parking lot.
What is the dress code?
Dress is business casual.
Can I show up anytime during the event?
Out of respect to the students, we ask that you try to arrive at 6 pm. Since funding is at stake for all students, we hope that audience members respect that tardiness affects their ability to get extra support for their idea.
