Event description

Description

n Tuesday, December 18 from 6:30-8pm, join Ms. Lori Lightfoot and the animal welfare community for a listening session/Q&A all about animal welfare issues within the City of Chicago. During this time, attendees will have the opportunity to share concerns and what is working well so that Ms. Lightfoot can learn and integrate into her platform. Discussion will be moderated by Erica Bishaf, animal advocate & Executive Director of the Pet Gotcha Day Foundation.

Lori is an experienced manager in City of Chicago departments, former federal prosecutor, former partner at Mayer Brown, and criminal justice and police reform expert. She has discussed and described data-driven, people focused solutions to our city’s biggest challenges, from city finances and taxes, to police and education reform, to building opportunities to access the arts in every Chicago neighborhood. Lori has been endorsed by Crain's columnist Greg Hinz.

Crain's Chicago Business Columnist Greg Hinz -- “The best positioned... is Lightfoot, who has connections as a top lawyer and was a finalist for U.S. attorney. She is a long-time activist in policing matters, an elegant speaker and an open lesbian, giving her a shot at winning votes from lots of varied corners.”
