Description

This Month

In April, we are starting a new series of Listening Labs to explore the topic of migration.

Migration is something we have in common, one of the roots of our identity as human beings.

We hear or read many stories of migrants, especially living in the San Diego area. When we listen to them in a conversation in which we choose to “show up” and share our own feelings and stories about migration, moving, relocating… we realize that we all have, either personally or within our family, personal stories that are about moving somewhere else.

How might we move away from the mindset that there is “us” on this side of the border and “them” who are trying to come in, reaching a point where it becomes clear that we all carry a migration story?

What's humankind?

humankind is a platform for people and initiatives committed to strengthening shared humanity through conversations that connect. It’s important to create space for us to interact, create moments of deeper connection and explore together how we can be better at it. Join us to participate in experiential learning moments for personal nurturing and community building.

Why Listening Labs?

There is so much to discover about how “listening” can be transformed from a matter-of-fact activity we do without being really aware of, into a path towards authentic connection. Connection to others, but also to ourselves - and back again full circle, because becoming aware of ourselves in deeper ways brings us back to a sense of interconnectedness with all others… At humankind, we think that’s worth exploring together every month!
