Event description
a Kid Pan Alley songwriting/dialogue workshop for teens with Lea Morris and Robbie Schaefer

About this Event

In this online collaborative songwriting workshop taught by Kid Pan Alley’s professional songwriters, kids ages 13-17 will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of songwriting while engaging in meaningful dialogue on the themes of “listening” and “being heard” - as well as what "justice" means to them. Music is an important tool for connection and community during times of upheaval; this workshop will give teens the opportunity to share perspectives, learn from each other, and work together to create an original song. No music/songwriting experience needed!

Dates/Times: July 20,22,24 (M/W/F) from 11:00am – 12:30pm (three 90-minute sessions**)

**you will automatically be added to all three sessions upon registration

Tuition: $90

What is Kid Pan Alley?

Founded 20 years ago by professional songwriter Paul Reisler, Kid Pan Alley (KPA) provides hands-on group songwriting workshops for children of all ages: inspiring creativity, building confidence, and fostering community. Our trained staff of teaching artists help students give voice to their own stories and listen to each other as they work together to turn their ideas into song lyrics and melodies. To date, we've written over 2,700 songs with over 65,000 children across the country, from Virginia to Hawaii. Our songs have been performed by major recording artists and we’ve won numerous awards - including two Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, a WAMMIE, and a Grammy nomination.
