Event description

Description

The European Space Agency has recently officially selected LISA as the mission to address the L3 science objective of gravitational wave detection in space. If we are to achieve the scientific objectives it will be necessary not only to have a highly sensitive instrument, but to complete careful processing and analysis of the data from the satellites in the ground segment. This meeting is a kick-off meeting to begin detailed discussions of the design of the data processing infrastructure. The meeting will have particpation from both astrophysicists with expertise in the scientific targets of the mission and from data analysts who will work on the design and implmentation of data processing tools. The aim of the meeting is to identify what will be required to achieve the scientific objectives of the mission and how optimally to construct the data processing infrastructure to achieve those aims. We will also begin to formulate data processing work packages and deliverables that will be required to make the mission a success.

There is no registration fee, but we would ask you to register so that we can keep track of numbers.
