Event description

Description

This workshop will focus on how to integrate resilience projects into daily planning and decision-making processes, with an emphasis on engaging community stakeholders to build support and buy-in. Better connections and partnerships with communities can mobilize resilience actions. Integrated planning, linking disaster, climate, and social resilience, can then become a platform for implementation among the regional and local community stakeholders. Speakers from the Governor's Office of Planning and Research, FEMA, and innovative engagement firms will highlight case studies of political, private sector, and resilience success stories that illuminate promising approaches.

Lunch will be included in this workshop. Be sure to let us know of any food restrictions or preferences in your RSVP.

This workshop is one in a series focused on implementing resilience-building strategies locally. Future workshops in this series include:

  • Innovative Local and Regional Approaches to Resilience Financing - May 2017

  • Building Resilient Homes to Build Resilient Communities: A Pilot Project - July 2017

  • Planning for an Uncertain Energy Future: Energy Assurance for Resilience and Sustainability - September 2017
