Linkedin - Improving Your Online Presence
Event Information
About this event
Social media provides us with many opportunities to share our lives and careers with our family, friends and acquaintances. Your use of these tools like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others, if used incorrectly, can cause irreparable harm to your career.
In the first half of the session, Scott will discuss the importance of both your person and professional brands, discussing the impact of social media tools and how you can use them to your advantage. He will also focus on the risks associated in posting inappropriately on these websites.
For the second half of the discussion, Scott will discuss how to effectively use LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site in the world. It boasts more than 575 million users across 200 countries with 93% of recruiters using it as a tool to find and vet job candidates. It’s clear that LinkedIn is the place to be if you want to offer your services, network, or improve your prospect of finding a new job or gain your next promotion. He will focus on improving your profile through use of branding and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. With a fully complete and tuned profile, you significantly increase the opportunity that you will be found by hiring companies.
