Event description

Description

Linked Data London is an informal meetup to discuss the applications of Linked Data and the technical and organisational approaches to making it a success.

Following a series of successful events in Manchester, we've decided to go on tour! And we're delighted that the Open Data Institute has generously offered to host the first session in London.

There will be 3 short invited talks, with plenty of time for discussions and contributions from the attendees. The meetup starts at 6pm on Thursday 7 December, and finishes at 8pm, followed by a trip to a nearby hostelry for further informal chat.

Speakers:

Martin Waudby, Department for Communities and Local Government: An overview of how Linked Data is enabling digital innovation and change in DCLG

Leigh Dodds, Open Data Institute: in his role as Data Infrastructure Programme Lead, Leigh will present on what data infrastructure means to the ODI and projects in progress to drive progress in that area

Sean Craig (tbc), NHS Digital: on the use of Linked Data in the NHS to support improved transparency and data integration

The meetup is free and all are welcome, but capacity is limited so please register so that we can keep track of numbers.
