About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Description: In this workshop, we’ll slow things down and focus on what’s actually being said, one line at a time. By giving ourselves space to listen and respond to what’s actually happening, the work gets simpler, the scenes get more fun to play, and the connections gets a whole lot stronger.

Bio: Chris Alvarado has been performing and teaching improv for over 25 years. He trained at The Second City Chicago, iO West, and UCB LA, and has been a part of the improv community in Los Angeles for much of his career. Chris created the Chris Alvarado Improv Workshops, focusing on teaching honest and meaningful improv. He performs with the multi-award-winning improv group Heyday as well as Pretty, Pretty Pony at The Westside Comedy Theater and is a member of the experimental group The Live Direct Show. His recent TV credits include Hacks (HBO Max).

Workshop Details: This workshop takes place in the 207 Santora Building in downtown Santa Ana. It is walking distance from the Frida Cinema, allow some time for parking and finding the building. Once you enter the building, head to the top floor. The class cap is 14, so enroll soon!

Code of conduct: All students and performers have a right to feel safe and respected. We strive to create a space free of discrimination and harassment. This class will require that all students be respectful of personal boundaries and respectful of one another regarding age, race, sexuality, gender, ability, and the like.
