Event description

Description

If there is one reporter who for decades has served as America’s Supreme Court whisperer, it’s Linda Greenhouse. Today, with the court challenged as never before to stand up to misuse of power or reinterpret its role in society and the national discourse, this is that moment. With the latest Trump candidate to our most exalted judicial body the subject of the most contentious confirmation process in decades, and as we head into the midterms two months away with the court and its membership high on most voters’ agenda, this is the very moment to hear from Linda.

Linda has spent her career at The New York Times chronicling the court, its justices and the issues they deal with, winning a Pulitzer Prize along the way. Now, distancing herself from the daily fray, she has pitched up at Yale Law School whence she will be arriving to speak with us from her post as the Joseph Goldstein Lecturer in Law and a contributing op-ed writer for The Times.

At the same time, Silurians will have an opportunity to purchase her latest book, the remarkable “Just a Journalist: On the Press, Life, and the Spaces Between” and even have her inscribe it! Linda will be with us on September 26—a week later than accustomed due to the confluence with the Jewish holidays. Again, we expect a packed house, and a very special and entertaining afternoon. So please reserve now.

The date: Wednesday, September 26
The time: Noon
The place: National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South
