Event Information
Description
The Chicago Metro Alumni Chapter of The Lincoln University of Missouri invite you to help us celebrate our beloved alma mater as we take you on "A Musical Journey" that will serve as a Recruitment and Scholarship Fundraiser for our Annual Founders' Day this year.
Lincoln University of Missouri, located in Jefferson City, MO, is a historically black college and university (HBCU) founded in 1866 by the 62nd and 65th Colored Infantries. LU has a tremendous legacy of Music Education and Performance. This production will convey not only the music of the institution but will celebrate the collegiate and professional contributions LU students and teachers have significantly made to music across America...and possibly the world.
The "Journey" will take place starting at 5:00pm (doors open at 4:30pm) on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the DuSable Museum of African American History located at 740 East 56th Place in Chicago, IL.
Musical genres such as Classical, Gospel, Jazz, R&B and even Spoken Word will be performed by none other than LU Alumni, current and even prospective students!!!
Tickets are $20.00 per person and can be purchased right here on Eventbrite!!!
Proceeds will go toward the alumni chapter's scholarship fund as this event also gives high school students across the Midwest and beyond to consider our Lincoln O' Lincoln University as an institutional choice of taking their education to the next level!!!
