About this event
Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) Certification allows commercial landscape maintenance personnel to make pesticide applications (using materials with a signal word of Caution) to ornamental plants and plant beds only. To become certified, applicants must take a 6-hour training, pass the required exam, show proof of insurance, and pay the licensing fee of $150.
This workshop will provide the 6 hours of training required for LCLM Certification. Topics covered include pesticide safety, environmental protections, weed classification, herbicide technology, laws and regulations, major insect groups, and pesticide labels.
The workshop also offers an opportunity for anyone seeking the Limited Lawn and Ornamental (LLO) license to review key pest management concepts.
An optional exam session will be offered at the conclusion of the training, but space is limited. To register for the exam, please visit: https://pesticideexam.ifas.ufl.edu/. Please note: you must register separately for the exam; registering here for the class does not register you for the exam.
To prepare for the LCLM exam, the following study materials are recommended:
- Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance book (IFAS Bookstore)
- Applying Pesticides Correctly book (IFAS Bookstore)
- Identification Guide to Common FL Lawn & Ornamental Weeds booklet (IFAS Bookstore)
- Florida Green Industries – Best Management Practices for Protection of Water Resources in Florida
- Chapter 5E-14 FAC (internet)
- Chapter 482 FL Statutes (internet)
- Instructions -common pesticides & equipment (from suppliers; basically, review some of the pesticide labels you would use)
