About this event

A night to reflect.

The color white is like an impenetrable, protective shield. It reflects all colors and all light, and is believed to strengthen one’s identity and serve as a filter for negative influences from the surrounding world. Visually, it is soothing for the nervous system and has a positive effect on the psyche.

White is the perfect cloak for introspection.

Our experimental sonic journey inward invites you to explore extraordinary states of consciousness in a safe and supportive setting.

*A negative Covid test result or proof of recovery will be required of all participants. Please present either a negative rapid/home antigen test from the last 12 hours, or proof of RECOVERY from the last 3 months. We will also be offering onsite testing for $35 for your convenience. No exceptions!

The evening will include:

Talk. We open the container by setting the stage and going through the flow of the evening. We share the general ethos of the evening, data drawn from research, education, and personal experience with sound and self-inquiry practices. We offer context on how to approach each one of the the different chapters of the evening.

Guided Contemplation. A deep introspective dive into our own creative powers, an opportunity to align and harmonize thoughts, sensations, emotions and intentions. We gently guide (and hopefully inspire) you into a safe inner space of curiosity, courage, wisdom and play.

Vocal Activation. An invitation to explore the uniqueness of your instrument, as well as the delicate balance between contributing to and receiving from the collective. By simply using our voices, we examine and experience our innate gravitational pull toward states of harmony and resonance, both inner and outer. This practice also offers many physical, mental and emotional benefits, such as self-soothing, expression, discovery, release and invocation.

Breathwork. Inspired by Dr. Stanislav Grof's Holotropic technique and an array of other breathing modalities, we guide you into the system of our life force energy in a gradual crescendo of intensity, set to assist in staying present as you move through difficult sensations and emotions, as well as transcend the chatter of the overthinking “monkey mind” to enter meaningful states of contemplation, deep listening and exploration. This portion is driven by ecstatic live drumming.

Sound. We will see-saw between live electronic and acoustic arrangements, including melodic and non-melodic overtone-rich instruments, deep drone portions, and vocal offerings.

Circle. An opportunity to share musings, thoughts, feelings and poetics about our individual experiences.

The experience will be followed by a plant-based dinner, music, and a moment to get to know each other.

HOW TO PREPARE

Set an intention - between now and then, set aside some time for some intuitive writing and see if anything interesting comes up that you'd like to further explore. If you're currently working on anything, you are welcome to simply write a clear intention, in free-form or bullet points.

Consider the following:

What would you like to let go of?

Attachments, unhealthy habits, default behavior or thought patterns, pain, grief, addictions, or anything that weighs heavy and doesn’t serve your perceived greater purpose.

What would you like to welcome in?

Self-love, compassion, equanimity, discipline, pleasure, acceptance, or anything you believe might enhance your experience of being your best self.

What would you like to receive clarity about?

Relationships, work, the human experience, or the workings of the universe!

Prepare your vessel - to increase your sensitivity and openness, it is recommended that you refrain from alcohol intake and other substances for about 48-72 hours before the journey. Please, arrive on a fairly empty stomach.

What to bring -

Comfortable clothing (layers recommended)

Eye mask or a scarf (very important!)

A mat

Pillow and blankets to make the journey extra comfy
