Event description

Description

This workshop will help you to transform the editing process, giving you the know-how to quickly and efficiently sort and enhance your digital images.

It is aimed at all photographers, although the emphasis and theme is on wildlife and nature photography. It can be attended as a standalone day or as a follow-up to our How to Shoot Ultimate Wildlife Photography workshop (held on Saturday 24 March).

All photographers use some sort of software to sort, categorise and enhance their images. And as most wildlife photographers know, it is easy to accumulate thousands of images very quickly, so the editing process can be a time-consuming and technically difficult process. But it doesn't need to be that way!

In this workshop we'll teach you:
• How to approach Lightroom and implement it for wildlife photography
• How to let Lightroom do 90% of your editing when importing your images
• How to reduce your editing time and workflow by 90% by implementing automated import presets, editing presets, keywords and special collections
• The art of cropping
• How to evaluate your edited photographs

Working in a small group, the workshop will be informal and interactive. Attendees will need to bring a laptop and a selection of images to work with.

If you have not used Lightroom previously, please pre-load it on your computer so you'll be ready to work with it on the day.

Photographers who currently use other software but who are looking at ways of streamlining and making their editing process will find this a useful day to asses an alternative option.

This workshop is run by Johan Greyling, with support by Lou Coetzer. Johan Greyling’s 43-year career as a wildlife photographer has seen him lead photography tours across southern Africa and have success in various photographic competitions, including being named Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2014 by the Photographic Society of South Africa. With special expertise in photography software, Johan is a Lightroom Trainer and Facilitator.

The workshop will run from 9am to 5.30pm and there will be morning and afternoon breaks with unlimited tea and coffee, and lunch will be provided.

The workshop is hosted at the Hilton Warwick / Stratford-upon-Avon, which is conveniently located on junction 15 of the M40, making it easily accessible from most places, including London, the Midlands and the North. It has been timed to run on the first weekend following The Photography Show, at the NEC Birmingham.
